RUPESTRES

With an unashamedly pictorial approach, Hitters seems determined to free himself and us from the language of photography in order to confront us with the inner life of each of his scenes and their immediate effect on our sensibility. In these images there is a renunciation of the third dimension, the colour advances or recedes turning the works into floating entities, provoking the pictorial extension of the photographed.

Stripped of the accessory, thrown into the most absolute sincerity of form and colour, Hitters connects us with a primitive and overwhelming spiritual expression, like nudes in a half-lit cave.

Walls Bearing Witness

Through the lens of "Rupestres," the photographs capture the essence of the past, a glimpse into the flow of time that has shaped the world we inhabit. Each image is a portal into history, taking the viewer on a journey of discovery and exploration into the untold stories that lay hidden in the stones. The photographs in "Rupestres" are more than just mere snapshots; they are a testament to the passage of time and the beauty that emerges from it.

As the project continues to evolve, new images are added, each one a unique discovery of the hidden gems that lie within the walls of history. The ongoing project is a tribute to the enchanting trance of the world around us, uncovering the stories that time has left behind and bringing them to life through the lens of the camera.

“In general colour is a means to exert a direct influence on the soul. Colour is the key. The eye is the hammer. The soul is the piano with many strings.”

— Wassily Kandinsky

"Rupestres" is an ongoing photography project that features directly captured photos taken primarily in Argentina and Italy. The project showcases large-format images, each measuring 112x112 cm and printed on high-quality cotton fine-art paper.
